They've had 2 internal teams over the years, though you could technically say they have 3 with the canabalized diablo 3 team.

Team 1 has long since quit, many of them went off to work on other MMO projects or other games internally.

Team 2 has been around since WOTLK, and has been headed by Ion Hozzikotas, who is this chucklefuck? He simply got his job because he was the raid leader of Elitist Jerks, a guild that just theory crafted and spoiled raids, which is why since WOTLK 99% of all gameplay is focused around raids, and everything else is just meme infused grinds.
