I thought the combat was pretty fun, not especially deep or anything, but engaging enough that I wasn't bored by it like in FFXIII.

I'd suggest waiting until they release the "complete" edition before buying it though. It's not a complete game yet, and it'll probably never be. But atleast they're fixing it a little bit, unlike MGS V.

It's unfortunately not as deep nor fluid as KH2, it feels heavier and more sluggish when you connect attacks, but I actually like how it feels. Some of the heaver weapons are pretty satisfying.

If I were to be honest, I really think this is one of those games you have to try to really get the feel of the game and then judge if you like it or hate it.

There is stuff. Experiment around with stuff like warping with magic in mid air, delaying attacks and switching the weapons in between that. The game has many neat hidden mechanics, it all just isn't executed very well and could've been much better.

Unfinished as it may be, FFXV doesn't come close to how utterly boring and unlikable the majority of the characters in FFXIII are. I honestly only liked two characters in that game, Sazh and Fang. Yeah, no. Aside from a slightly better version of the first game's gameplay (wich still is not that impressive), XIII-2 has one of the worst stories i've ever see in an RPG. The moment they mentioned it would have involved time travel it smelled bad news. Plus, horrible ending and terrible DLC practices; people love to dump on Capcom but conveniently forget about this games' payed stuff like Sazh gambling adventures (wich are completely pointless) or the extra ending wich still ends with a sequel bait.
Lightning Returns instead tries so hard to fix the previous games' mistakes but it's just a glorification of Toryiama's fetish for Lightning herself, has a Frankenstein monster hybrid of gameplay between Crisis Core and the previous 2 games' battle system, and has one of the worst endings i've ever seen in a work of fiction. It takes a special kind of bad to let a Final Fantasy game literally spelling to the player's face that they have defeated the bad guy with the power of love. Sure it's not like it never happened before, but previous games' used metaphores or were more subtle about it, or it wasn't even important.

VIII is filled to the brim with plotholes but i can have fun with the gameplay. X has a terrible rehashed story but i still can have fun with the gameplay. XII has virtually no story due to internal problems, but i can still have fun with the gigantic amount of side content. And by extension, XV has a fuckton of problems in its plot, characters, development and franchise handling, but i can still have fun with its gameplay or side activities.
Nothing, absolutely nothing will manage to make me have fun with any of the titles of the XIII trilogy.

Dirge of Cerberus. If you remove Gackt's two songs, Longing and Redemption, you're left with just a stream of garbage themes plus a nice song, Arms of Shinra. Hamauzu is the worst thing that has ever happened to FF music. The X-2 duo, who couldn't compose a song longer than 30 seconds to save their lives, can't even compare. Hamauzu is slowly improving though finally.

Actually, no; Gackt had the outfit custom made himself for the Redemption music video (literally, he wears it in the video) with Imaizumi's approval. Nomura was just there because his name draws crowds. He later drew the outfit, but the actual conceptual design was mostly just Gackt.
For Crisis Core, Nomura helped adapt the red jacket look so that it fit over Genesis's SOLDIER uniform as well as visually jived with the rest of the universe, which is why, unlike his Dirge outfit, it just looks like a red version of Sephiroth's coat with less pronounced pauldrons.
The only thing that Nomura can really say he contributed to Genesis was his weapon. Everything else was Gackt's ideas with Imaizumi sucking his dick and Nojima getting high.

Hideki Imaizumi, the producer of Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII, thought such a passing role was a waste and asked for more involvement.
