you can do a lot with purely f2p. I play it completly f2p and have a decent party. You get a lot of free summons, ingame currency and there are a few very good free units as well. If you take your time to reroll until you get a 5* base unit youre good to go for the rest of the story.

Honestly this. Just get a Gameboy emulator and play the original Pokemon Red or something. It'll take up like 30megs for the emulator and 1meg for the game, then fill your phone/tablet up with movies to watch or pdf books to read instead.

Isn't F/GO out in English now? Part of it, at least.
