>Nintendo probably couldn’t have asked for a better debut for ARMS in Japan. The game sold around 100,000 between June 16 and June 18. As a new IP on a system that’s in its early lifecycle, that’s not bad at all.

>Some new information really puts into perspective just how well ARMS did. It had the best debut for an unlicensed fighting game in Japan over the past seven years. ARMS beat out the likes of Street Fighter (more than double the sales of Street Fighter V), BlazBlue, The King of Fighters, and Tekken.

>Note that due to the nature of the graph (unlicensed), franchises like Dragon Ball and One Piece aren’t represented. Super Smash Bros. also isn’t here, but the graph mainly isn’t focusing on characters from non-fighting games.

>People buying a shitty hardware with no games.
>Desperately buying every new game.

I'm honestly not surprised that it sold well in Japan, my question is whether people will keep playing.

>>381765885
End thyself.
>>
Don't worry. It has no streamers, razor thin playerbase online, barely any porn, and it'll be buried by Splatoon in a month.

I didn't really enjoy ARMS enough to make it a worthy purchase for me because I feel like it lacks depth and longevity, but it's definitely something fresh and it's good to see it doing alright at least.

However ARMS' launch numbers in Japan will absolutely pale compared to Splatoon 2.
>>
>>381765656
I think the game was worth it but I won't buy ARMS 2 if it comes out. Basically it's a fun experiment but I don't think it's as great as Smash, Mario Kart or Splatoon. I think it's great that Nintendo makes new IP now but I'd rather have them something else.

>A casual 3D fighter on a system with barely any games full of thirsty costumers sold more than 2D fighters that compete with each other for sales in already crowded systems full of other games

WOAH!
Looking at this pic I REALLY can't tell you why a game like GuiltyGear Xed Rev2 didn't sell as well as ARMS.

Normies are attracted to casual games. In other news, shit stinks.

What a waste. Should have put that money towards a good game.
>>
>>381766565
what's the game on the bottom between miku and kingdom hearts
>>
>>381766498
It's way better than Splatoon was at launch.
>>
>>381766565
Because it's not as good as ARMS. Traditional fighting games just aren't good and they will never be loved. Get over it.
>>
>>381765696
I think Jojo ASB has the highest first week sales for a fighter in japan.

Yes, all two of them.

Sure are some strict stipulations

I wouldn't have bought it if I had known it didn't have a fucking license
