Ciri is fine. Geralt is fine, albeit a boring character. Their relationship is not fine, but it's the primary motivation of Geralt. The extent of their relationship involves a prologue dream sequence and an optional therapy session. But by the time they finally meet it's just like old times, times people who played 1, 2 and 3 never get to see. They have as much going on as Anakin and Obi-Wan.

If the white frost was such a big part of TW1, why does TW3 act like Geralt is clueless about it? There is actually a main story quest where you go talk to a random NPC who monologues to you about it, despite it still being largely ambiguous.

Eredin is different from The Wild Hunt, and yet neither is expanded upon well in a game with it as its subtitle. Eredin, his lieutenants, their motivations... it's all swept under the rug in favor of Geralt/Ciri, but the game(s) don't even show them bonding until after you've practically played the entire game. Fucking Joel and his daughter from TLoU in the prologue had more going on than Geralt/Ciri.

There was even that scene where Ciri accuses Geralt of being the same as Eredin (albeit without the insemination aspecr), but Geralt immediately counters her with some vague rambling about his genuine affection for her and their history. WHAT HISTORY? Trashing a guy's office and stealing horses? That's it?

Not him but Dragon's Dogma is an easy one. The problem with comparisons like these is that the combat, even though it's action-based, is different. TW3 would be out of place with Itsuno's combat, and vice versa. TW3 just doesn't feel executed well, the enemies are boring to fight, the skill tree feels generic and ripped straight from something like Assassin's Creed or Horizon, you know, other action-adventure titles. Also Quen is unbalanced to a fault. I wanted to use it as part of my "role-playing" experience, but it made fights so damn stupid.

It just feels like CDPR gave up trying to even make halfway-decent combat, and then gave up on everything else except marketing.
