how do the graphics still look so good and hardly dated for a game that's more than 10 years old? on literal potato hardware by today's standards.

sure it doesn't have the detail and lighting quality of today's games but the visual design in incredible and the car reproduction is spot on.

many other games from the same era like san andreas look dated as all fuck in comparison

OP here, silly me, I actually meant Gran Turismo 3! This game had much better presentation, sound effects, soundtracks, and aesthetics than any GT, ESPECIALLY Gran Turismo 4. My mistake!

2, 3 and 4 are all god tier. 4 just felt really fucking comfortable.

GT6 is not worth getting if you already have 5. GT6 has all the same cars, with like 20 new ones. Just 20. The game feels like a quest to get back all the cars you already have in GT5. Luckily, I was able to get a GT6 save that had all the cars unlocked and 50 million credits to spend on upgrades. I would have hated the game if not for that.

I hate all the menu sounds, the soundtrack, the presentation of races, everything about that side of Forza. If it wasn't for Top Gear I'd hate it even more. When I'm actually in a race it's fine but the menus and all that feel like a big corporate advertisement.

I fucking loved GT4 and I was extremely hyped for GT5. GT5 was probably one of the biggest disappointments for me and it killed my interest in racing games for a long while.
