ITT: Unpopular Opinions
The Dreamcast would have flopped regardless of the PS2 and Sega's mismanagement between regions. Due to its early release it would've been left in the dust in terms of power behind the PS2, Gamecube and perhaps the Xbox (Although the Xbox's climate would be much different without Sega's involvement). It wouldn't get major third party titles and by 2004 when games were starting to make that generational transition to 7th with games like RE4, Half Life 2 and Tekken 5. The Dreamcast would be far outclassed by its competition once again.
The best scenario would be that the Xbox wouldn't do so hot either and thus gaming would be saved as a whole, and that maybe due to lasting the entire gen, Sega wouldn't call it quits just yet and bring something even cooler out for 7th gen.
