And why sacrifice staff? Isn't getting staff and sacrificing shield the best because magic is OP and that extra magic bar in KH1 makes all the difference?

Dusk is night, so more XP after lvl 40. Picking shield gets you early Leaf Bracer and Second Chance, which makes it impossible to die. Sacrificing the Staff just means 1 less MP, not that much of a problem since MP can be recovered easily.

I was trying to play all the games again, and I pretty much had to start over because unless you pick shield, just about everything will two or three shot you. Heaven forbid you fucking drop shield.

Enemies hit like freight trains, health orbs do fucking nothing. You will be scrambling for health orbs everytime you see them.

Dude, playing on normal you pretty much can play however you want.

It's Proud mode you pretty much have to plan your entire game before you even play it. The worst part is, you can't switch items during any boss fight or battle, so you legitimately can't go into any fight blind.

For example, the first world's boss deals a bunch of fire damage, but you would never know that because none of the world's enemies necessarily reflect that. The only subtle hint is that one of the first few accessories available reduces fire damage.

Does the PS4 version of KH1 make the cutscenes skippable? I've thought about replaying it, but the thought of having to sit through that cutscene before the possessed Riku boss fight over and over again keeps me away. There was a time when I had that whole cutscene memorized.

I've been trying to beat Sephiroth on standard ever since the game was released and haven't won once.
What did I do wrong?

sword is always the best sacrifice because you only lose attack, with is easily made up with attack up consumables, and the max is 99 no matter what you pick

if you sacrifice shield you will always be down an item slot, which you cannot increase any way

and if you sacrifice staff, you will always be 2 lower than the max possible mana

the only time you ever dont sacrifice sword is if you are speedrunning the game.

Thinking about it, pretty much one of the more disappointing parts of Proud mode is that they don't buff Donald or Goofy to compensate. They're only useful for the initial crowd control, but usually go down within the first 20 seconds of any fight. And don't get me started on boss fights.

Finished it 4 days ago, first half of the game is boring. Camera controls are bad,story of the first game is mediocre. If you don't like it just force yourself, second half is way better

Play on normal(or easy if you just straight up suck ass), pick shield and sacrifice sword. At the 3 questions pick the third answer of each.

Try to seal the keyholes of every(disney) world to get the most story(look up what to do for this if you can't figure it out).

You'll be weirded out at first, but it's a pretty pleasant experience overall.

As far as I'm aware, you just have to grind, also make sure you don't have 99 map cards in your inventory, cards won't drop if you do. I made that mistake as a kid, and ended up grinding from like Lv.60 to 80 with no blue 1 or any other card in sight.

Swear to God, if they don't make Disney the main thing about part 3 then I ain't playing it.

I don't get how people can say 2 is better than 1. Sure the controls are better and there's cool rpg elements like the limits and such, but the fucking minigame and qte reliance just suck so much out of it. Add this to the fact that the worlds are just corridors and arenas with chests you can't miss. Even the best world in KH2 (Hercules world mostly because of Hades shenanigans) is barely up to the standard of KH1 worlds. Then there's shit like Atlantica and Port Royal.

That said, I've only played the originals of, so maybe KH2 is much better in the newer version?
