If your PC can run it, Mankind Divided is about as good as Human Revolution. It was definitely worth more than 12.50 to me. The DLCs aren't worth the $7.50 though as only A Criminal Past is any good.

V have both expansions released, is balanced (as far as it can be, really) and cost reasonable price. VI cost absurd price and is not balanced at all (they clearly didnt optimized/tested it past ancient times aka first several turns).

If you have console or can emulate, every Harvest Moon will be better. The only selling point of SV is being HM game on PC.

Wait can you glitch bundles by adding individual games you don't want to your cart, then adding a bundle which includes them, and then remove those games? When you add the bundle it will discount those games already in your cart, but when you remove them, the discount still stays. You don't get the games with the bundle but it still works out cheaper anyway because of the bundle's higher discount.

Yes. It's the best Total War since Rome 1. Deadly serious. It got slammed by reviewers because 'the result is known, you don't actually win :( in canon', yeah, like you winning as Carthage means Rome doesn't exist.

It's added great things to it, like equipping weapons and armour to your generals to make them stronger, magic is a cool addition, flying units are a cool addition, loads and loads of unique units.

The DLC are shit but the Elf + Beastmen ones are worth it. They add a campaign specifically for them. If they're on offer, get them.

Bought The Witcher 3 GOTY edition.
Been playing it for 5 hours now.
So far it's very disappointing.
The combat and horse riding is very clunky, and neither the main or side quests are that interesting.

Does it get better at any point?

Bet upgrade would be SMAC, but your options are:

Civ 4 with expansions is last game to use square map and have good, balanced gameplay along with two very important and cool mods - Fall from Heaven 2 that turns it into dark fantasy game (author went later to Stardock and fixed one of their games, resulting in Fallen Enchantress). Second mod is HUGE Caveman 2 Cosmos that adds TONS of content that is hilariously unbalanced and equally fun to play, since it expand each era with tons of techs, biildings, units and various little additions like in-empire food/industry trade, workable mountains and such. Single maps can be played for weeks as result, sadly it also means that at some point turns takes few minutes to skip but its kinda engine limitation.

Civ V is balanced, fun and finished but dont take mods too well. Game is kinda poorly optimized and turns takes long to skip but its bearable. Still popular. Also uses hexes this time instead of squares. Dont forget to grab expanions, they make game actually playable.

Civ VI is unbalanced, expensive and mostly ignored. I suggest waiting for expansions.

I was thinking about first Star Ruler, to be honest. Second game is... weird. Different than any single 4x I ever played. Real-time divided into segments, strange system of leveling up planets, pressure system (planets automatically build buildings based on what influence they receive).

I dont say its bad, actually many people on /v/ loved it but its almost like re-learing the genre.

the performance is smooth at first but tanks heavily lategame, and game crashes all the time on me

I like it because it has a nice rush expansion phase in the beginning and fleet designing is fun (even if mostly obsolete by metagame)

Anybody played StarCrawlers and can give opinion? Gameplay vids suggest somewhat lack of depth but I might simply be mistaken. Alternatively I will simply wait for Winter Sale, like with Operation Abyss and Operation Babel games.
