Soul Memory was good because it didn't limit who you could connect with. Prove me wrong.
being able to warp on every bonfire was good

I hated soul memory at higher levels but other than that it wasn't too bad.

but isn't that exactly what it did?

no warping is shit and killed all tension.
>kill mobs in a level
>teleport back and cash in all your souls/echoes
no risk involved. There is no point even having your souls drop on death
If they want to maximize the available connections, they could just scale player and weapon levels to match the host. Build variety is good, but levels don't make sense for multiplayer. It's not going to be fun unless the players are about even, so they may as well force it.

Never understood why people enjoy back tracking through the same bullshit they have already gotten through 30 times. It's not like you can't just run past shit regardless. Good riddance to that bullshit. I feel like 30% of my playtime in DS1 is spent walking around
