The game mostly focuses on team building but the issue is that the game was designed in a way that the only thing that really matters is damage output since defensive skills tend to have too low of values to matter or too high of cooldowns to be reliable enough. Thing to understand, different grail wars have different set ups and rules. Mooncell war doesn't have the same conditions as Fuyuki or Chaldea system. Because the systems were created entirely differently by different people. They only share the basic concepts.

Fuyuki - Only Hassan can be assassin, no divine types, originally could only summon heroes but it was corrupted during 3rd war. Servants don't keep memories. 7 servants

Gameplay wise, while Mashu isn't the best at the start cause her levels are capped by story, you shouldn't neglect her since she becomes a beast as the story progresses. She also requires very little mats to upgrade her skills.

Also servants with guts should be put at the end of your team because if they die when alone, the enemy stops attacking but if they die with other allies, the enemy can target an ally and go back and kill the servant after the res.
