Silent hill1/2 / Resident evil 2 (ambient ost especially laboratory) and resident evil 7 saveroom ost (its fantastic). deus ex hr has really good drone sounds. Donkey kong country is surprisingly fresh and way ahead of its time. minecraft gets flack but holythe soundtrack is pure zen,. Kings field for those lonely, 4 walls dark room vibes you crave at 4 am. Eye devine cybermancy is phenomenal from 1 to 16 (i think there are only 16 tracks i dont remember). Fallout new vegas is at this point obligatory as is metal gear solid. Cant go wrong with them but look out for mostly ambient ost.

Japan is the only country that cares about music in video games.

I was going to say Chrono Trigger and Megaman X5 but yeah no weeb shit.

I think Rimworld has a good soundtrack.
