To those who raid at a high level, is the positioning and distribution of melee jobs around the boss a big deal? This DRG player has a hateboner for casters and feels threatened by RDM because it would "steal a melee position around the boss that another melee could use" (his asspull term for this is "hitbox"), but honestly I've never seen it mentioned by anyone else and I don't even see it mattering in the game unless it's a boss where you need to bait aoes/mechanics very precisely

Because at level 60, red mage has nearly their entire stormblood kit. All they're missing dps wise is a slightly better Jolt and verflare/holy. Everything else is the same.

Goddamn am I glad to be free of that Steppe shit. What the fuck were they thinking? That was worse than ARR, everything was boring and ugly and tedious, there were no likable characters beyond Gosetsu, and it all ended in a wet fart.

Not really excited to be getting close to going back to Gyr Abania either, though anything is better than wasting more time with those retarded lizards.

Use jolt then alternate between wind and thunder to build mana. If you get a proc, you use it. wind has a 50% chance of proccing earth and thunder has a 50% chance for fire. If you proc then you don't have to start back at jolt. Once you have 80/80 mana, you do your melee combo or 40/40 if manaification is available. I took my fresh out of PvP SAM to Sirensong today, fucked up my positionals and timing a lot, choked and forgot to use Yaten Enpi when the boss made a ring around itself despite having done that dungeon 10 times; the AST still gave me a couple balances in trash pulls and I got 2 commends at the end. I parsed 7% below the RDM and I felt so undeserving

Rotation wise I get especially thrown off when I start a fight with a nonzero sen. My practice rotations all assume I started with 0

If you weren't there day 1, hour 1 to learn the fight you have to read a guide. And if you weren't there day 1, hour 1 to get your clear with the competent players you're doomed anyway to a hellish interstice of tanks not popping cooldowns, DPS that can't break 2000-dps, and healers that tunnelvision and get cleaved.

Took me 2 weeks of active, dedicated effort sitting in PUGs every night to clear Sophia, and 3 weeks for Nidhogg; mostly from wipes to the enrage and fang/claw respectively. And at that point the farm parties were so bad I couldn't get a weapon anyway- joined a Nidhogg """""farm""""" about a month after 3.3 and 2 people died to the divebomb suppuration in Phase 1.
On that note, I can't play Stormblood until next week. And you know what? Fuck raiding. I'm not going to flagellate myself again by trying to carry people that have absolutely no business being in endgame. It's worth because it costs nothing. Yaten costs 10 kenki and Yenpi generates 10 kenki. In the end it's 0 kenki cost for free damage while you dodge a telegraph.

The only downisde is that yenpi will break your combo so if you are midcombo and you have to get away but you know you'll be back in time to finish the combo then it's probably not a good idea to do it unless you want to restart your combo from 0.

I hate how overused the Stormblood leitmotif is. A week into the expansion and I'm pretty much already sick of it. The fact that it's the regular battle theme AND the Othard town theme means you hear it pretty much constantly, and the beautiful zone themes are always getting interrupted by it. And because it's so common it diminishes the occasions where it's actually really powerful like the dungeon boss theme and final boss.

Tanks never did as much damage as DPS. The entire point of their gameplay is to balance their aggro with their DPS but tanks have gotten so used to aggro being completely ignorable that they now just consider themselves DPS jobs that stand in front of the boss. Even now you still almost NEVER have to hit your aggro combo.

It's nowhere near as bad in Heavensward because for one, the Heavensward theme has two distinct leitmotifs that are used separately (e.g. both Ishgard and Dusk Vigil use the Heavenward main theme, but different parts of it). I feel like you guys are completely missing his point. He's saying that since tanks have no damage, without prioritizing it through gear, keeping aggro is stupidly harder than it should be. It just makes tanking more tedious to play, which in turn will turn more people away from the role, which further increases dps queues. My queues as a healer have been instant for everything since SB, which means people are leaving the role to play other things. This will happen to tanks as well if things don't change.

Alt+12345 are for misc. functions that doesn't fall into any other category.
