I liked the combat a lot. The cover system felt well developed and solid, but killing off the squadmate command system seemed a complete step back and felt like having the squadmates around was totally pointless.

It just felt basic otherwise, some worlds looked great (Elaaden) while others looked rushed (Kadara). The Kett/Angara were so unimaginative and the wildlife seemed to be the exact same on every planet. Oh yay, bullet sponge space Lizard. The exploration concept was non-existent because it was "go to marker, kill kill kill or talk talk talk" and driving around the Nomad got old fast and the repetitive side missions (e.g. start planet reactors) were uninspired. Also, just not enough planets. The game felt small-time.

I could write pages about the shortcomings of MEA, but I'd rather just forget about its mediocrity and hope that Anthem makes up for it. I think it was a mistake to leave the Milky Way for Andromeda because ME lore is pretty well developed and the potential for either a prequel/sequel or other type (e.g. game more focused on an urban environment such as the Citadel) that could use that lore intelligently rather than DUDE ARKS WE LEFT THESE RACES BEHIND LMAO AND HAVE NO WAY TO WRITE THEM IN.Also, the latest patch had a focus about your male Ryder being able to bang Jamal the Alien or whatever he was called just shows that the they're still fucking retarded.

No, I did. The Protheans did absolutely jack fucking shit for the current cycle that hadn't been happening for thousands of cycles before them. The only difference was Vigil, who made some unimportant distinctions about the Reapers, when Sovereign had already coughed up everything important anyway on Virmire, and then talked about "Muh protheans" without actually understanding anything about the Prothean culture and being absolutely completely fucking wrong compared to what we learned about them later, or at least misleading.
