>install pic related
>decide to get a few mods for it
>meticulously install mods
>test game after every new mod, works
>use all the tools to make install as clean as humanly possible
>play game for an hour
>works just fine
>uninstall one minor mod
>game is fucked beyond rhyme and reason, wont even get to main menu
>none of the well known fixes even make a dent in the problem
>delete 20 gigs worth of downloads
>make clean vanilla install
>problems persist, weekend ruined
how anyone at bethesda got their jobs is beyond me.
>blaming bethesda for a mod fucking up your game
well it is like an 11 year old game, why would bethesda still waste time making patches for current hardware/operating systems/drivers/etc (which is what I assume the problem is), especially to make it work better with mods?
Sure they purposefully made it easy to mod, but after that their part is done and the ball is in your court to make it work. They can't be held accountable for making every little stupid tweak full compatible with every other one

>implying oblivion ever worked to an acceptable degree in it's history
nah, this game was always fucked beyond belief when it comes to crashes.
>Install mods
>Play game with mods
>Remove "minor" mod
>Continue playing same save game
Yeah that isn't how it works. Up until you said you did a clean install with no mods, it sounded exactly like you uninstalled a mod that another mod was dependent on, like if you had made a bashed patch and then removed a mod that was bashed into it.

Just play nehrim dude. No reason to play vanilla over it anyway
