They are identical except the armor on the alien grunts doesn't deflect bullets. Just get source. If you want to play the original then just download sven coop for free.

Fuck Source and Black Mesa. However The Source 1 engine looks like a first year animation student build for his 1st semester.
It aged like a corpse in the Iraqi desert.

The story (or the screamingly lack of it, no cutscenes and text) is incredible.
+ you will see who is responsible for ruining FPS games (muh cinematic asspirience).
They fucked up the 2nd one because the art department threw everything that made half life good away.
Also play OPPOSING FORCES! Like really.
