splitting the playerbase means players have less time for both and thus are more likely to be casuals/ quit
people wouldn't want a legacy server if it has shit that wasn't there initally, which means say goodbye to the $$ from cosmetics and mounts
Releasing legacy servers also means that they are admitting that their previous products are more desirable than the current one, and thus would imply a decline in quality.
Just play elysium or something man.

I remember not too long ago that MMOchampion did some survey of accounts with broken shore achievments and the number was closer to 400k. Still a far cry from the glory days and likely shrinking as we speak, but not THAT close.

Current wow is fucked up. not only is the game design in a somewhat wonky spot just because certain features seem detrimental to an mmo world but also because of how everything is scaled. Too many levels and your character is way too strong for the low lvl content. For instance at lvl 17 a character is about as strong as a lvl 50 character was in vanilla, doing 1300k moves on mobs that have 300hp Its not engaging but people say they need it to be like that because there are so many levels you need to be able to rush through it.The whole early game needs an overhaul so that theres more engaging parts to the game than just the hardmode content blizzard introduced in the latest expansion. I remember picking up an expansion, after wotlk and i played a warrior and i actually died a few times around lvl 10-15 or so becuase monsters were tough. i needed to think a bit about what i was doing to progress my character. I mean the game wasnt hard but it kind of kept me on my toes, it was like "oh shit i need to kill 2 skeletons at a time better make sure to use this ability correctly to make it work." As oposed to now where i can take on 4-5 mobs at a time at low lvl by auto attacking with my mage.

If blizz does legacy servers i would hope to see

just about every private servers class balance is based off of when mages were the kings of pvp which is why when you go into a battleground you often see half the team on each side consisting of mages.

I don't think blizzard could ever make legacy servers.

They've said no so god damn long that the current live playerbase would probably throw another shitfit over it.

It would also likely become significantly more popular then the modern game, which would call into question the current team's design dicisions over the years, which is probably why Watcher and his band of fags keeps telling morhiem and their activision overlords it would be a bad idea, even though the last attempt at a properly balanced, no item selling, no level boosting private server gained a ton of traction just by world of mouth advertisement to having a million accounts and a quarter million active players, which is more players then your average MMO

Scaling enemies is the worst thing you could ever fucking do. What is the point of getting stronger if everything scales to you

The sad thing is, low levels are completely worthless. Numbers are numbers. What difference does it make that 1300k moves are being used at level 15 when the entire game isn't built around that anymore. The game has and always will be about end game.

We are talking about pristine / legacy servers here. Obviously you wouldnt want people to use mounts etc they got on non pristine servers on the pristine server.
