Everything that was changed was done so because at every level of play from gibus pyro to the highest level of play they were either awful or broken, with the exception of the B.A.S.E. Jumper, who's nerf was completely unwarranted.

Ambassador change is great for closer to mid ranges. Maybe more spread on first shot is not the best way to stop spies who think they're snipers, but still.
YER change is pretty good. Maybe 50% is too much, but other than that the changes make a lot sense.

There weren't many straight up nerfs. Most of them were buffs along with nerfs that made a lot of sense. Plus some reworks.
Also Heavy got a straight up buff to pretty much all his primary weapons.

The main problem with some of these changes by Valve is that they changed things comp players were complaining about-- like Cleaver, for example-- but didn't change WHAT they were complaining about.

Competitive players didn't care about the Sandman+Cleaver gimmick combo, they disliked it because Cleaver recharges so quickly that it's endlessly spammable. They should have just hit the recharge time with a nerf and left the crit gimmick.

It's not like Heavies can't stand to be shit on a bit. It takes more skill for Scout to kill a Heavy than it takes Heavy to kill Scout because the Minigun shits out damage and Heavy's HP is huge.

Also, fun fact, Minigun can stay revved while stunned, so you can fire at Scout the moment the stun wears off. If you have Huo-Long Heater you can even set him on fire while stunned.

Natascha and BB don't need to be nerfed. They're already underused both in competitive and pub play.

However, I would like to see Valve make Heavy slightly quicker while revved, slightly more accurate, quicker to switch weapons upon spinning down, in exchange for going down to 275HP.

I think that would make him less of an unfun stalemate-causing damage sponge, and a more useful offensive class.

No. GRU was and still is a step in the wrong direction for Heavy. He's supposed to be a class specialized in holding areas, not a versatile class you'd run all the time if you had other options.

I agree that not all classes need to be 100% viable all the time. But also, the generalis/specialist division only happened because of how the game was initially created as a casual game and competitive balance wasn't a concern at the time.
If the game was made now they would try to make all classes about even in terms of usefulness.
Sure the Heavy can stay as a specialist class, but Sniper is also a specialist but who is useful in many more scenarios and not almost absolutely required in some, like Heavy is.
