Is buying Total War Warhammer right now worth it with the second

It really depends on what army you want to play. Empire, Brettonia, Chaos, Orks, Dorfs, Wood Elves, and Beastmen are all in the first.

the second game will eventually have a grand campaign that combines the two games
buying it now wont make it all a waste

Well the second game will have a combined map if you own the first game, so you will be able to play all the factions on a super map.

I would get it from the cheapest place you can, even if its a keyreseller. It was 12 dollars on a humble monthly before.

Wait on the DLC. It might go cheaper in the future, but the DLC you buy now will be usable in Warhammer 2 in a few months and Warhammer 3 next year aswell. So its also just as likely they don't drop DLC price too much since it won't lose value for atleast another year.
