I got a 2DS just to play monhun (fell in love with Tri on WiiU) but the screen is just too small for my tastes. I liked the game but I dropped it because of that.

I just beat the Nerscylla. Game is p good so far. Wish I got it when it came out so I wouldn't have to suffer dead online.

Gore Magala is the best monster in the series
Best fight with a great contrast between phases, good theme, solid hitboxes, even had a major story purpose

Is there any footage of the Gun Lance in MHW yet?

I'm interested in that, the Hammer, and the Bow Guns. Just getting back into 4U after having barely touched it since getting it. I really like the concept of the GL but it feels super easy to whiff thrusts with it. Hammer is easy and feels good to smack monsters with it. Feel like not playing on a New 3DS is hampering my ability with the bow guns (are those still for sale? Might pick one up).

I remember I managed to get the Jaggi mask in 3U so I might try and get it again in this one.

I couldn't use any weapon after using the Charge Blade, it was pretty much my dream weapon. Everything about it is perfect, from the animations, usefulness, versalitiy, it's like it was made for me.

New monster hunter fan here. Just got Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Ver. for PS3! Anyone else have this? The graphics are quite spiffy, it's in Japanese but I am getting by on 2 things:

1. Youtube videos of the English fan-patched PSP version running in an emulator. Helps with the menus and identifying who's who in town.

2. General knowledge from playing MHFU on my Vita.

If you take your time and get good gear you can also solo online quests.

I recently started a new character to learn how to use the bow, since it seemed fun, and some people say it is kinda OP. So far I'm enjoying it, but I still can't manage to secure good distances to shoot safely without the monster jumping me or shooting me with it's laser. My biggest worry about World is the size of the map concerning Rathalos. His pussy ass flying up out of reach while shooting fireballs that always miss and his dumbass never-miss aerial tackle...In a HUGE map with plenty of room for him to run away. Ugh.

I'm till discouraged about the fact that you can freely change weapons mid-hunt, the hook, and how they decided to turn the game from boss rush to lure-and-kinda-hit the monster.

I love playing 4U but the game tires me out fairly quickly, i usually only get an hour in. But damn is it fun

I wouldn't worry about that. I think you can swap out armour sets too I think so this means you'll be able to wander around with your gathering gear set(gotta carry those eggs anon!) and then when the monster is found or so you can switch out to your fighting set.

Besides don't tell me you never forgot or brought the wrong hot/cold drink before.

Being able to play Bowgun with a decent controller or even mouse+kb. Mouse+kb bowgunner or bow is an interesting concept. Might really change how I play. Usually I use the Longsword or Insect Glaive in 4u. But in 3u on the wiiu i played bowgun/bow. Was really satisfying on controller but hell on the 3DS.

Has it confirmed to be any weapon from your inventory while on a hunt do if you put them in some sort of pre-select inventory you set up before hunts? For years I had been asking the ability to change weapons at the item box instead of going back to my house or whatever so this could be a nice substitute.
