Not even sure why this needed a remake. The original still holds up extremely well even compared to many current JRPG's. The only way I'd interested in this, is if they added more end game content.Can't say I'm a fan of the redesigns either, but that's hardly an issue for me.

Eh, I'm not really feeling motivated enough to get this. I had already played and it's been done and finished. It's nice they added Bowser's Minions into this, which does give us a whole other point of view, but I'm still not that thrilled over the idea.

I honestly think they got to that one point where they know they can't do much else, so they just decide to remake the first game instead. I'm not sure how many rules they have to abide in order to keep the series faithful to what Miyamoto wants, but it seems they're still kinda restricted.

It'll definitely be worth it for the remastered OST, like >>381487462 said, but asides from sprites that clearly needed much improving (the infamous Bowser's sprite work), some others feel like they have less charm to them. Maybe I'm wrong and it's just me trying to check out the current sprites, but at the same time, they look like they blend a bit too much with the background, with barely nothing to make them stand out.

I think the team behind the Mario and Luigi games has stayed as its own unit for a while and generally makes its own decisions while the teams that were behind the other Mario rpgs don't really have that. So I think thats why Superstar Saga is the one being remade.

Why would the Hammer Bros you fight in Bowser's Castle look any different than the ones you fight in the Mushroom Kingdom? The few enemies being restyled to their current NSMB style is a big bummer, AlphaDream did a great job making them look very different from their Mushroom Kingdom counterparts, further selling the oddness of the BeanBean Kingdom. Goodbye, radical lanky Boomerang Bro. Also, it looks like they slightly changed how advanced bro moves work and I'm not sure if I like it.
But other than that I'm hyped. The game looks absolutely gorgeous, especially now that they went back to detailed 2D backgrounds instead of 3D rendered environments, and the redone sprite animations are fucking top notch as expected. The one thing I want is them to make the game not as easily broken, you can easily cheese your way through the game and with the recent games being tougher than the old games I'm hoping they'll adjust the difficulty level accordingly.

It's a stopgap budget game at the end of the 3DS' lifecycle, if they have reusable assets available, they're definitely going to use them. It doesn't make a grand difference because the 100% unique enemies which they have no assets for and have to make new sprites for, like we've already seen with the Fuzzbush.

Paper Jam > Dream team = Superstar Saga = Bowser's inside Story > PiT

Overall game:
Dream team = Bowser's Inside Story > Superstar Saga = Paper Jam > Partners in time.

People have way too much nostalgia for SSS, and I say this as someone who replays the game once a year. All people ever bring up is muh bros moves m-muh bros moves. SSS is embarrassingly easy and there's a ton of annoying areas like woohoo university. All that being said, SSS is still a 10/10 game.

Yeah, I was really disappointed in terms of characters, music, and setting. But at the end of the day, the game itself was extremely fun and it makes me angry that we will never get 3/4 player party again because people are too fucking dumb. .

I think the enemies were redesigned for a number of reasons:
