It's almost like he's going to die from cancer no matter what and his treatments have just been buying time.

last I heard his cancer mutated into something a bit less cancerous. Not sure what the prognosis is, though

nah. It mutated, he's likely to make a full recovery.

its cancer. once you have it, it generally doesnt go away. you can stop it from growing and try to cut it out, but it will almost always come back.
