Anyone else do that?

Why wouldn't you delete the installer?
>not having your Downloads folder filled with installers for hundreds of games and regular pieces of software

I have a bunch of game discs and cracks in an archive folder. It's nice when I need to reinstall a game or two.

This
After I install any game I make a 7z archive of the game's directory and delete the installer. Same thing for Steam games.

I think a installer does more than that, then people wonder why their games are broken.

Literally retarded. The installer installs files in your appdata and registry folders for it to work. Game folders alone don't work just by unpacking them, they're installed in multiple places in your machine.

every time you install a steam game you uninstall steam

I've been doing this for a while and I rarely have problems with my backups. Usually the game's .exe creates the registry entries (if applicable) and additional files on the first run.
Restoring backups from archives is much simpler than using an installer.
