Pokemon GO (aka best pokemon in the whore series) is getting

They waited way too fucking long to make meaningful changes. If gen 2 and trading was fully released by September 2016 the game could have easily lasted another 4 months with just as large of a playerbase as ever.

But alas, it's now over a year later and

>Still no trading
>Still no traditional battling
>Still no Pokemon centers
>Still no large meaningful updates at all

They shot themselves in the foot so hard. Apparently they are at least fixing gyms this summer but that is way too little way too late.
So much lost potential because Niantic didn't know how to respond to what fans really wanted. Maybe in an alternate world where the game was given to more competent developers things could have been different

I don't believe this at all. They were just lazy. They knew damn well just cloning the battle system and trading would have created a world-dominating product but they were either too proud too stupid or both and just copied a game of their own instead.

while the game isn't perfect, it sure is fun as a casual endeavor to enjoy with friends or significant others outside. i got my casual, pretty much non-gamer gf into it, and it was a really fun thing to do together. my only complaint is a lack of friend list, trainer battles and trading. everything else is pretty solid for a mobile game.

Why hasn't Niantic even attempted to make purchasable trainer skins? If they had clothing stores like Pokemon X/Y did, but that used their currency, they would've made a killing.

Imagine if they even had limited edition trainer outfits like Brock, Red/Blue, Serena, Flannery, etc. The company has connections with Google and Gamefreak, and were given all their models/textures and animations from X/Y and ORAS. Was it really that hard to spend a few months paying some outsource korean studio to make costumes and skins?

I feel like they missed their shot.
When the game first dropped, everyone I had ever met was playing. Roving packs of college kids were wandering around the campus at night playing, both nerds and chads. Hell my mom downloaded it and she hates games.
But then they busted the tracker, and everyone waited a few days to play again. But they didn't fix it for months. And every normie who enjoyed going out and tracking individual Pokemon like "holy shit, run down to the post office there's a dragonair there!" Gave up and quit playing.
All that's left are turbo autists.

Well yeah, I'm talking about the social aspect. Everyone I knew was playing, and while I certainly went out with them on hunts it just wasn't the same, especially since I wouldn't get called for the more spontaneous ones.

As a survivor of the /vp/ normie invasion last summer, I don't feel anything. I've become numb to GO shit.

The game died when they took out the random spawning/easter hunt style catching. That's what actually made it fun for everyone.

when this game came out i remember how when people saw i was playing the game they'd just randomly come up to me and we'd just start talking about the game, talking about the shit we caught or where a good pokemon was etc.
that was fun, too bad that'll never happen again
