You could say that. There are some annoying things like the chained npc's repeating the same lines incessantly, but it's just inconvenience. It doesn't have grating flaws that will make the game "unplayable", unless you want to use that term as a hyperbole. Some LoK fans even consider it to be the best game in the series.

Raziel is featured in both Soul Reaver games and in Defiance which is the last Legacy of Kain game and you play one level as Raziel and one as Kain. I started the series with Defiance and played it backwards, loved every moment of it except for Blood Omen 2. That one is just mediocre.
