If this game is so good, why did they add a pointless life system? The game spits you out at the hubworld whether you get a game over or not.

Repeat that question, and this time listen to yourself

My question still stands, anon. Why did they include such a retarded system for "muh tradition?"
Because if you run out of lives you have to run a little farther from outside the castle to get back into the painting.

For the sake of more collectibles

That is actually a good question. Probably the only game design related "issue" of Mario 64. Though I wouldn't say it's a big deal.

That's actually pretty fair.
Glad to see Odyssey's fixing that issue.
However, despite that small problem, the game is still a fantastic, tight platformer. In no right is it perfect, but it's life system doesn't make it a bad game.

>Good game=perfect game
Yeah, nobody liked that mechanic either, but the life system wasn't what made the game good, fucko
I mean, the game is still good.

The game doesn't autosave, the lives system allows you to replay the same star multiple times if you want to without resetting for some reason.
