I actually got the most enjoyment out of 2 and 3. has a special charm and it is more lightweight and the worlds and soundtrack stick in my head up till this day. i also liked all of the novelties it had. Also, the sims I made looked great with some custom content and mods. Overall, the sims 2 has the best of both worlds, replayability and my computer didn't have a hard time with it.

The sims 3 was a also wonderful but upsettingly, it took up a lot of space in my computer and got laggy quite often, it is very ambitious and I really like the open-world gameplay and it feels like I am really managing a whole wolrd of sims, also, I liked how the customization didn't have a lot of limits but I still needed many mods to suit my creative means. The default sims didn't look as good as the sims 2 sims but some custom content made them look much better.

Those are the two sims games that kept me glued to my computer for hours without rest and I became obsessed with both of them

I only remember playing sims 1 as a child and it was also quite satisfying but I feel that playing it nowadays is just good for nostalgia's sake and some charm, but it is as simple as sims games can get.

SIms 4... I actually only spent a few weeks playing with it and dropped it. It doesn't have that special charm that the other two games had and it is mostly goof for character creation, there are more limitations on the character customization and I do not like how the updates some so slow and it basically forced me to shell out money for dlc that should've just cam with the base game. On the bright side, I can make beautiful traps and trannies as well as have the sex mod, WickedWhims

2: evolution, pretty much perfect at the time and still excellent now

My simself as a beautiful and perfected but still accurate version of myself, a few slaves i made to serve me while I comfortably sit giving orders to all of them, occasionally, I gave myself a love interest and we enjoyed our life together with all of our slaves, All the slaves had their jobs and worked for me, ate substandard food, berated by me when they didn't do exactly what I asked. I also had the sex mods so they were my sex slaves as well. Sometimes, i made sim versions of people I despised IRL and installed the killing mod so I could kill them all or watch them suffer. I also made sure to own at least 2 pets.

Main household 2:
An insanely attractive man, a harem of around 4-5 women/men/traps pining over him and even killing eachother just to have him, basically it would be a setup for a murder-mystery, drama with lots of sex in it. Oftentimes, I would see which suitor survived in the end and make them have children together with the man, then I would continue this pattern until the next generation

Also, i would make a lot of gayborhoods and eventually, they all died of old age.

It's got 2 minute long loading screens every time you load a new lot, toddler life stage, "drivable" cars, a larger modding community because it's theoretically more moddable, it's got Pets, you can easily switch between multiple households, and well I can't tell what else because I really haven't tried Sims 4.

The series hasn't evolved, which is the problem. There is no difficulty curve, and any Sim can basically do anything they want (dating literally anyone, employment, etc.) through persistence, and surprisingly little of it at that. Gameplay wise the series needs something to keep it from just being a doll house game.

Not really, all I've noticed are the options in the character creator. Options like "Does this sim need to sit to use the toilet?" to determine whether your character has a cock and a choice of masculine or feminine dress style for male or female sims.

So, about the unoptimized mess that is Sims 3. What EPs affect it the most? Which ones are you better off avoiding? Is Pets okay?

To me, what's most lacking from Sims 4 is flair, as in stuff like music, descriptions, jobs, the looks of certain items. Luckily, I have a very particular set of skills and a few months of paid unemployment before me and I want to try to mod that shit in to make it feel more like Sims 1 and 2. What should I try to mod in to bring the old flair back?

How can you not cheat? I tried multiple times to play without the money cheat but I just can't take it. I just want my sims to be happy.

Well, I've got TS2's complete collection installed on my SSD and 5 GB of content on my HDD.
All in all it took 4 minutes 48 seconds for the game to prompt me to choose a neighborhood.
After picking Strangetown which only has like 6 playable homes on my savefile, it took 2:21 to make it into neighborhood view.
And then, after picking a household it took it 1:36 to load it.
All in all it took my installation 8:45 minutes to load the game up to a playable state, and i've got an SSD and 8 GB of RAM.

I'd say Generations and Seasons are the two essentials. Generations adds a lot of interpersonal interactions and more things for kids and teens to do that makes them feel unique. Seasons adds weather, of course, but also adds in holidays and town festival grounds that are themed with the seasons. Both should have been base game content, IMO.

Beyond that go for what interests you the most, but pick and choose. I've heard terrible things about Island Paradise and the world that came with it (performance-wise) so maybe stay away from that one. Try and pick stuff you'll really use. I play with World Adventures, Night Life, Ambitions, Generations, Seasons, and University Life and I feel like I have a well-rounded game.

I mean... it runs. I'm playing on a i5 laptop with integrated graphics that's a couple years old, though. So your mileage may vary. Also you could drop World Adventures off that list and not lose anything of the core experience, I like it but it's not for everyone. It adds three vacation destinations that are separate from your town, but what you do in the vacation areas is a series of linear quests that involve some light dungeon crawling and puzzle solving. Very different from the sandbox experience of the rest of the game.

I've played through the private investigator and firefighter, and done a little of the architect, they're all a lot of fun. Plus it adds stuff like the consignment shop, where your sims can go and sell things- fish they catch, crops they grow, paintings or sculptures they make. I like that a lot more than just watching paintings disappear into thin air or deleting things in buy mode.

I've heard mixed things about Pets (some say it's a bigger hit on performance than other packs) but I couldn't testify to it, I've never used it in 3. I used it in 2, and they're cute and all, but I just felt like it was another set of need bars to fill up getting in the way of my sim mastering robot making or getting a gf or whatever I was trying to do.

As far as WA vs. Ambitions, if I had to pick one it'd probably be Ambitions. But honestly I think you'd be okay with both. I like the quest-based stuff in WA as a break from a normal routine, but I probably use the features of Ambitions more on a day to day basis in the game.

So far as I know they work fine with an Origin copy, I use them with a retail Steam version.

The mod you're looking for is called Kinky World. It's on loverslab, or you could probably pick up the patreon version from 8ch's /hgg/ board, there's usually a Sims 3 general over there. Also requires animation packs to be installed separately, but if you follow directions at loverslab you should be able to figure it out.

Look into the NRaas mods. They can help with performance and/or keeping your saves from shitting the bed. The main two to get are Overwatch and Error Trap. Master Controller can be useful for micromanaging things about your town that the vanilla came won't let you do. See if any of the others are up your alley. I haven't used NRaas Story Progression, I've heard it's more resource intensive than EA's basegame version.

The real reason is they know that Pets is the most popular expansion and it will bring in all the old players as well as a bunch of new ones. They purposefully release it about midway through the game's lifespan in order to maximize playerbase. When pets comes out, it's downhill from there.

1 and 2 are very old and dated. I love 2 but people here suggesting 2 for a beginner are retarded. Its harder to get without pirating it and the dated visuals and mechanics are glaring.
