I remember liking this when it came out, but I'm not sure if it would have aged well.
Has anyone played this recently? I can get it cheap within driving distance but I'm not sure if I should bother
Also GBA thread I guess

Still fun, but REALLY easy to cheese through. I'd say go for it, even if only to keep the cartridge for bragging rights

it's pretty good

how? some of the early parts are pretty brutal when you have no moves and no capacity

I picked it up again.
Start is kinda slow.
shadow brings waifufaggotry to a whole new level in this game

Knock eveyone into the air with backwards kicks, finish up with heavy attack (forward+attack) when you need breathing space. Repeat until you have special moves, then break the game

I remember getting my phone stolen by a guy when I was on my way to buy this.
He told me:"you're lucky I won't steal your walked, cuz I can see you have it in your pocket"
Dumb fuck, if only he knew I had €45 to buy this game.

I replayed it through emulation some months ago. It's fun for a while but battles quickly become very routine once you learn how to cheese enemies through upper-cuts and max-gauge special spamming, especially if you get good cards for Emerl such as boosting your gauge speed or getting a maximum card (my very first card in the game was a maximum walk speed). Also, fucking fuck Cream's story for all the bullshit repeat encounters you have to fight.
>Fight these two really strong robots, also Cream is here but she won't fight so don't let her die!
>Fight one robot!
>Now fight two robots!
>Now do it again, but Cream still isn't fighting!
>Now how about THREE robots!
Seriously, fuck that entire chapter. Cheesing is practically demanded out of you and it's just nothing but repeated bullshit.

Here's something people often don't notice: all fighters start each life with a "resistance" to either air or ground skills. In life 1, a charactr will block 100% of, for instance, ground specials no matter how you string them together, but will NEVER block aerial specials, so you can just go full ham with those. On the next life the resistance is randomized again, so you can prod with a far away skill and if they block it, just spam the other one you have equipped. Equip something like amy's tornados and bam, you're untouchable
