I liked to watch my older brother play on PC because I was too shit at rts and fps as a kid and the only games we played together were HoMM3 and 4. I'll overlook your sexism, but its easier to watch than play. Game mechanics and the know how to just pick up a game and figure out things is a lot harder if you didn't grow up with it. Little things like camera control and movement are a lot more foreign if you didnt grow up being exposed to it. Its like riding a bike, you wont know how if you never learned

My gf does this too. Sometimes she picks some game by herself (she beat BotW before I did) or we play some local multiplayer games (she beats me at fighting games and only in them) . But in general she is happier watching me play than playing herself.

My sister did that too at first. You just have to teach her why that's a bad strategy. The main downside is that it limits your capability to move and block. Try playing Sweeps and Throws with her, as shown in that one video by core-a gaming. She'll quickly come to understand that mashing does not work.

I can't find which video it's in so in case you haven't seen it I'll just type it out.
All both players can do is sweep, throw, and block. No jumping, no other buttons. In this situation it becomes clear very quickly that the only way to win is to use your attacks at the right time rather than at all times. If she just sits there mashing sweep I really doubt that she'll hit you even once. Use your words to teach her how to improve at sweeps and throws if she isn't good at picking up on strategy. Picking up on strategy is the only thing that my sister is good at so I didn't need to do anything like this. I just picked sagat and threw fireballs and I kept alternating between telling her "mashing doesn't fucking work" and "fireballs aren't cheap dumbass, you can jump over them and kick me in the face" and she eventually learned. Now she's good enough to actually threaten me and beat me sometimes and this is without her even being able to execute DPs.

All my family and gf don't care about videogames.
