Crash 1 no longer has the esoteric 'have to finish the whole level in one life and get all the boxes in order to get the gem' mechanic. It's unified across all 3 games. You can now use checkpoints.

Also boulders breaking crates means you get the crates added to your crate total.

The N. Sane trilogy added a shit tonne of quality of life updates. It won't be a pain in the ass to 100% it now.
