Why does /v/ hate action-based combat in RPGs? Turn-based and dice roll are fucking boring. Fucking Personafags and Morrofags, I swear.

Wait isn't Souls like /v/'s favourite series?
I dislike it in a bunch of games because they could be decent action games but are ruined by poor implementation of rpg elements, like Dragons Dogma and its retarded damage scaling and infinite healing. When it works arpgs are the best type of rpgs though.

This, the RPG aspect is always weak. Like items and stats. It could be good, but it sucks. Dark Souls is the only one that did it right.

the majority of them suck only because they are so outshined by the better ones. I played Witcher 3 right after Bloodborne, and it was unplayable. Horrible combat/controls

It's not the only series that did it well but yeah. The key is to keep the importance of attack/defense stats to a minimum, making them influence the options you get during combat in the form of weapons/spells/etc instead. Gothic games do this well too. Games like Dragon's Dogma on the other hand will make fights half an hour long snoozefests just because you didn't grind enough.

Nut I do liek them, they are thge only jap games I can be bothered to play, the rets is boring garbage
