How much is level 60+story boost? I really liked what I played but I went Ninja and was during a particularly boring part of the mainstory in this forest area so I had no skills and no interesting quests and my next dungeon was 4 levels of grinding away so I dropped it

Alright, so it's 60 boost first and then story so $50 and the mental justification is probably along the lines of "I'm paying the price of a new game to turn an old game I already bought into kinda a new game." That's not too bad, after that I'd still have HW+patches of content right? But let's say there's another job I want to level, I'm assuming by skipping the story quests I'd be relegated to the bounty or whatever system and dungeons or are there more sidequests than I'm remembering?

The game isn't really focused on end game as much as other MMOs. So while in WoW I felt rushed to hit 70,80 w.e at the time.

In FFXIV there's content all the way up, and already level capped players on incentivised heavily to participate in the older shit. So you'll never run out of players for that stuff.

I would recommend just buying the base game and leveling to 50, and if you're enjoying that, buy the rest.
cheapest route, and allows you to dick around with classes/jobs that you might like.

It comes out to be something like a quarter a day.
Unless you are literally homeless, you can afford $13 a month. It is not an expensive game.

The story skip isn't pay 2 win, it's pay 2 not play the game. The story is the largest component of the game, you might as well not bother playing if you aren't interested in it.

You can buy a level skip, but that's just being lazy. The game isn't grindy at all compared to MMOs of yesteryear and the leveling roulette more or less guarantees you will get a level a day or just about.

I've already got up to HW purchased from a few months ago. I usually just like to have a close to max character for the variety of things to do instead of leveling low level classes through the same instances and zones. I'm assuming NIN is a more fun class once more things unlock, it's just super barebones once you start, I could probably benefit from paying for a month and experimenting with the other classes though.

That's a problem with the game in general. Low level gameplay isn't fun. Hell, everything pre-50 is basically just one long tutorial.

I can only imagine what it was like before the revamp. I wish I could remember the name of the zone I was in, it was a story zone in the forest and some woodland spirits lived in a village nearby, that's where I checked out because the quests were too boring and the next dungeon too far away level wise. I'm assuming that stretch isn't indicative of how fun the game is later though

I bought the story skip and I regret nothing.

MMOs are not the place with constant cut scenes and dialog when the whole goal and meat of the game is to get to do end game. Yes the story is a part of that but for now I'll skip it and go back to it later or read on a wiki.

I'd rather not miss out on Playing with mates. And the leveling is very grindy and constantly having to wait a fucking hour to do a required dungeon fucking sucks.

I feel like a lot of the problems would have been skipped if you could just skip to the level appropriate story missions if you were overleveled
