i understand your point, but windows 10 is rendering your argument invalid
there is a lot of games not working correctly on windows 10, and the platform is degrading like crazy
and the devs don't care either
they are not fixing windows 10 issues
and microsoft is already deprecating the whole 'Run as Windows old version' system
they are also shoving the Store in there

Also, flash is not needed anymore.

out of the box, it is like an OEM solution
you run the installer, it formats everything, it boots to Big Picture in 10-15 seconds

you can enable a desktop in the menu
and then it lets you jump to a gnome shell while big picture is still running

once you test it for yourself, you realize the humongous Windows 10 overhead
>>
>everyone switches to Linux

Many games still require WINE to play which probably will impact performance for many games.

But considering you need to drop most Japanese developed games to play on Linux it isn't worthwhile.

I've been using Linux since about 2003. Before Valve brought Steam to Linux, gaming was basically Doom, Quake, Minecraft, emulators, and Tux Racer if I didn't want to boot into Windows. I've since ditched Windows and haven't looked back.
>>
>>381365013
You play any Blizzard games? What about EA or Ubisoft games?
>inb4 why would you want to play them anyway
>>
>>381365175
Not that guy but Blizzard games sans Overwatch run perfectly with Wine since they're OpenGL. Overwatch has an OpenGL option but I've never tried it with Wine.

There's also an unofficial official launcher for EVE Online. SWTOR works fine as does GW2 and FFXIV
>>
>>381365175
Only Blizzard game I've played is Diablo II, which works in Wine.

The last Ubisoft game I played was Far Cry 2, which also worked in WIne.

Most of the EA games I wanted to play were played back in my Windows days (SimCIty 2000/3000, Need for Speed High Stakes). Haven't tried NFS on Linux, but the SimCity games are fine (SC2000 has the option of either Wine or DosBox).
>>
>>381365525
>>381365647
Wine is depreciated, just use IOMMU passthrough
>>
This is an extreme generalization but any game with OpenGL can work on Linux. The biggest reason games aren't put on Linux is DirectX. If Vulkan manages to surpass directX then you will start seeing a lot more games released on Linux
