Are these worth it for gaming commentaries /v/? Or is just a standalone mic more worth it?

>>381353670
I have one right now. Totally not worth it. The surround sound gimmick is kinda neat sometimes but thats it. The mic is average.
Get anything other than a "gaming" headset.

the fuck?

this, dude's taking out his preteen angst
>>381354247
i heard these are the best, can anyone confirm?
>>381353670
I picked this up MDR XB450 AP. Works fine for me. Costs like 40 bucks, and it has a speaker. If people want better voice quality from me, they can pay for it.
>>381355035
Forgot pic.

If I had to pick a combo set, I would use the one that Rich at Reviewtech uses.
Don't know the name, don't even care much for his videos, but his voice DOES sound good. He advertised them when they came back in stock on Amazon.
>>381355863
>Rich at Reviewtech
dang his voice does sound amazing. Do you know which video he mentions his mic?
>>381356059
No, I actually looked, too. I can't find it. He has it in intros for like a month of his videos, as well as amazon affiliate links, and it was definitely within the past year, so you should be able to find it within a dozen guesses.
I know it has a red light on the tip of the mic, and costs about 50 bucks on Amazon.
>>381355016
yeah, if you play csgo everyday
>>381353805
>that guy with a dildoshaped mic
KEK.
>>381356059
You can message him on facebook. If you promise to use his amazon affiliate link, he'll probably reply within a couple hours.
>>381356820
lmaooo I was gonna try twitter
>>381353670
Individual headphones and mics offer better value per dollar. If you want a cheap mic that sounds great I would reccomend the Sony ECM-CS3 (watch a sound test) and any headphones you like.
>>381356917
K. All I know is his reviewtech facebook page says he typically replies within a few hours.
I have those headphones op
The mic pics up everything, especially background noise
>>381356059
Pretty sure they are these.

I'm pretty happy with mine. The previous Logitech model had serious problems that made it break in ways I don't exactly recall, but I enjoyed the wireless comfort so much that I went for the current line, and it was pretty good. I've had some software hiccups, but I don't think they are recurring.
I'm pretty much a pleb but I am fond of Logitech products, they've been good to me. SteelSeries a shit (for headsets).
>>381358447
let me see some reviews I might pick it up tomorrow, a lot of times i see him without a headset so idk if he switched eventually or something
>>381358819
I dunno, I've seen him use it a lot, and he spammed the fuck out of them. Check out the list that has them in the description.

i need wireless, mic, and 7.1 virtual surround. I'm also looking at the g933 and it seems like the best under 200
>>381353670
The acceptance of gayming devices on /v/ is a testament to the Reddit invasion of this board. Soon you will have unironic Alienware threads where people parade their prebuilts around proudly.
>>381359197
Why wireless? I never understood that.
>>381353670
I have a pair of those. Bought them cause I wanted a fabric and something to fit my large ears. They're pretty nice, but i feel like they are fragile. Also the mic's quality is decent at best.
They're okay for the price.
>>381354216
Modmics are overpriced, vmoda boom pro sounds ok and are cheaper, $20 sony lapel mic is even better. If you're using a wireless mic just get something for your desk.
>>381359460
So long as you aren't going for their meme-tier shit, Sony has really impressive sound stuff. That lapel mic is great, and their professional grade headphones are second to none. You buy a pair, and you're set for life, shy of replacing the pads on occasion (which are sold for 10 bucks).
>>381359248
You're late by at least 5 years
>>381355016
Those headphones are just rebranded Takstar Hi2050, ISK 2010, Qpads.
Better get some Philips SHP 9500 or Pioneer SE A1000 and a boompro mic/modmic. It'll still be cheaper than getting those HyperX for $100 off Amazon.
>>381359460
I already have a pair of actual headphones and a modmic is my nextpurchase
>>381353670
Buy this headset and use a good soundcard. Then you get good voice quality.
>>381360115
a friend just got a pair of hyperx and the microphone is the absolute worst quality I've ever fucking heard in my life
>>381359258
Because wireless nowadays is good, and less cord = better.
>>381360175
>actual headphones
So I guess they have replaceable cables? Why not get a Boompro instead of sticking something to the side of your headphones?
>>381359197
>i need wireless
>>381359460
>>381357234
Can agree with these guys, sounds great for casual use. I dont even use mine like an actual lapel mic, I just leave it connected and put it in between my monitors.

Compared to this:

>>381360665
Almost forgot, the one shortcoming of this mic is the short ass cable, it's like 30cm. You should consider picking up a female to male 3.5mm cable if you buy this, it's only like 1 extra buck.
It depends on how serious you want to go with it. A good headset mic with audacity white noise removal will probably be fine. It doesn't matter to much, but the love of god, don't waste an extra £50 on the yeti.

>>381361473
Not going to disagree too much with you. Weegee's got a point, but he gets to it pretty obnoxiously. I had more issues with the Blue Yeti than just the audio sounding shit. The ports inside the mic are really senstive and it's big and bulky.
>>381361674
If there any reason why you cant pick up a stand-alone mic and a pair of bluetooth headphones?
Trying to get both bluetooth and a mic all in one package is pretty expensive
>>381361674
I just pointed you could get an adapter for your headphones, making any headphone a wireless one.

Both are fucking garbage. Any usb mic is going to sound like ass if you're going for any semblance of quality, get a legit mic. I use a blue spark but that's also pretty low end, but any condenser mic work.
I've got the perfect mic for all the white fucbois in this thread, get one of these and start sucking my ears.
