On PS4 I pretty much gave up, I bought a better and longer cable (smoother, the one they give is too stiff) and leave it wired 100%.

Not an argument. Battery life on the controller is a joke and way shorter than it should be. It's constantly a problem with multiple controllers whenever I play games at a friend's house. If your last console was Wii, 360, 0S3 or only plqy on PC then it's easy not to know because no one ever talks about it. Meanwhile there's a massive LED and speaker functionality which add nothing to the controller. It's a big problem they deserve more shit for.

Double charger ensures:
Controllers always charged.
Simple swap if battery dies.
It doesn't use the Micro-USB ports of the controller nor the USB ports of the console, so those don't wear out.

I go weeks before I need new AA batteries for my steam controller and about as long before I need to charge my WiiU pro (And I have 3 so I usually just cycle off)
