I actually function normally in real life. I finished my studies with good grades, I have a well paying job and I do well with it. I live on my own and have a couple, but online games just give me serious anxiety.

I somewhat used to have the same problem when I was younger but that was only during games where I was frequently the last guy alive and the entire team was watching. At that point, it was just constant practice to the point where I didn't give a shit about other people watching me. Just need to relax and not care so much about things.

I used the have that problem when playing fighting games, especially online. I would get so caught up in the idea that I would lose that it gave me anxiety no matter who I played. I could play against someone who sucked and I would still get stressed that I might mess up or make a bad decision.

The way that I eventually got over it was from sticking with it and continuing to play, and also from finding a group of friends with similar skill levels and playing with them. We helped each other recognize our faults while also joking about the dumb errors we would make. Eventually, I found myself not worrying about losing to other random players because I was sure enough in my own ability. I felt like even if I messed up, I could move past it and not dwell on it for too long.

So I guess my advice would be to play with some friends, especially in competitive games. And after a while you should notice those feelings of anxiety start to disappear, or at least you're minimizing them.

I used to be extremely anxious about queuing to competitive in CS:GO, but after you play enough you stop caring too much and stop worrying and just focus on playing, even if it goes badly.

I had a burnout once. Couldn't play videogames for three months. Made me anxious as fuck and nauseous. Be careful kids.
