Let's turn this shit thread around, let's talk some lore.

Anyone else kind of disappointed the Champion of Cyrodiil isn't mentioned more in Skyrim and books about the Oblivion Crisis? Unlike the Neravarine, who only effected Morrowind, the Champion saved all of Nirn. Obviously Martin is very important, but there were only 6 champions before the player so you'd think they'd get more attention.

Yeah, there's neat stuff in TeS but the gameplay is gutter trash to the point where I can't play more than an hour or two before getting bored and annoyed by any of them

I played Oblivion back in like release year (I was 16) and thought it was pretty lame. I didn't even really explore, just followed the main quest.

Played Skyrim, sucked ass but tried to have fun with it. Just never felt engaging no matter how many mods I installed.

Installed Oblivion last week on a whim with some mods (not too many, mostly visual but Maskar's and a leveling attribute fix thing) and oh my god it's so good. Having a great time. Playing as an Argonian speedster with high int for mysticism and conjuration. Fights are fun, and honestly I think Oblivion looks way better than Skyrim.

Oblivion might be the worst sequel ever made.
Anyone who likes it is either retarded or blinded by Nostalgia.

That's pretty entertaining. I think I also liked oblivion more, but it had a lot to do with how janky you could get with it. Pouring a lot of effort into only one or two stats resulted in some wacky builds. I remember doing one guy where I just kept putting points in agility or whatever and grabbing gear for that (there was one set of boots from a quest in particular) and got to the point where I could jump over houses. Hilarity ensues.

That's what I'm going for! And yeah there's obviously more "RPG" mechanics to Oblivion, therefore allowing you to get more specialized and, as you said, janky.

After playing Skyrim, going to Oblivion and seeing the Int/Willpower split made me so happy. Argonians suck at destro and restro but are good at potions and mysticism. Having half the spells dictated by a different stat makes the game more interesting as well as "You're not an elf or breton? Hahaha fuck your spellcasting". It's all just way more interesting.
