It's because of this game that people think BotW was good. The bar was set so low by SS that people were blown away by BotW in comparison, because they refused to admit SS was a bad game.

To them, Nintendo could never make a bad game, so they see it as "SS is a bad Zelda game, but still a great game!"

Truth of the matter is, SS is a shit game all around with some ok moments here and there. The Zelda franchise isn't that great, it's overrated to all fuck.

SS is a 5/10 at best, and BotW is a 7/10.

Let's not pretend TP didn't have its fair share of filler crap. I'll freely admit Skyward Sword had too much as well. But some of them, like the spirit orbs, were handled better than Twilight Princess was, because it required stealth and paying attention. Not just aimlessly running around a foggy bog looking for a glowing light. The tone poles were obviously bad though.

There is literally nothing wrong with the Zelda formula. All the stuff people complain about regarding WW, TP and SS are things completely unrelated to it.

TP has fast travel and the other shit is optional, also, rupees became useless after the second dungeon so whatever I had a full wallet, I just dropped all of them with the jew kid.

TP has filler, sure, but it's not that annoying compared with SS, and for boring puzzles, just look for the quick solution on google, it's not like anyone find them fun anyway.

Too much focus on cutscenes, timelines, gimmicks and linear gameplay IS the formula for WW, TP and SS. That's why BotW is a deviation from that formula. BotW just brought Zelda back to what it should have been doing. It's really what Wind Waker should have been.

When every 3D game does the things I named, it becomes a formula. Even Miyamoto and Aonouma themselves referred to it as the 'Ocarina of Time formula' in interviews. And specifically said they were trying to break this formula with BotW.

Your idea of the formula is overly simplified. And some Zelda games don't follow it, namely Phantom Hourglass or Link Between Worlds.
