Other than the screen being crunched and your overall view being smaller its a good version of the game. Ironically I've only bothered to beat the JP SMB2 once and it was on this version probably making it way harder than it needed to be.

It was either A Link to the Past or Goof Troop. I didn't realize I had played Goof Troop until I saw a screenshot years later. It was the fucking star blocks that reminded me.
