Blowout Blast is a small e-shop title and only slightly above Fighters and Durm Dash Deluxe, and also an expansion of an existing mini game. So its one original title this year and it would be weird not to have one considering its been 2 years since rainbow curse, that half of HAL had to have been working on something big. That and we already know its not a remake

Kirby Switch is still a year away, I'd expect it halfway through 2018 if we're lucky. But even then nothing stops games from being close releases, like Mass Attack and RtDL.

there were some rainbow drops you could only get using an animal combination
and when discarding an animal, they don't just sit there like in dreamland 3
they actually disappear until you get them from another miniboss

they actually get rid of your animal too

basically your animal was your very fragile lifeline in that game

I think the next step for Kirby is bringing back an old villain in a big way. Fan response to star dream being a clockwork star was incredible, so they know people care about the lore.

Who would you like to see pulling the strings again? I'd love to see Nightmare or Zero, but Marx would definitely be the coolest.

Well other than the more robotic concept art, they also said they considered to have Susie as a robot made by Haltmann in his sadness, so I think the daughter drama might've come first, specially seeing Kumazaki's concept isn't robotic by any means. But keeping her the same Susie that disappeared not only helps the current plot, I think her character added more than just a robot would've, like him making a clone is sad, but her having come back the entire time? priceless

Oh and I think what people took as robot eyes were meant to be alien eyes more than anything, as you see that even in the more organic concepts

Yeah they are very good, and for the most part he's been doing his own take on the series, it works. If he tried to direct someone else's villain, one from a director more subtle/melancholy, and less colorful/bombastic/dramatic than he, it might not go as well. You can only do you, you can't be someone else. Thinking of Kumazaki-style Dark Matter or Zero, with that Kumazaki style presentation, atmosphere, boss fight, lore, and ending doesn't feel right. When it's Kumazaki's own creation it's much more personal and enjoyable. In the end, even though I love Zero, I just want Kumazaki to focus on developing his take on the series like Sakurai and Shimomura focused on theirs. Maybe just bring back characters that were supposed to keep appearing, instead of the ones that the last thing their creator did was make sure to wrap them up. I also want to see Magolor developed into a real main character, he's "Kumazaki's Guy"

Another interesting thing about Nova is that it's much less chaotic which could be because it's more primitive with clockwork rather then using an AI

Another question is was star dream always bigger or was it because of Haltmann messing around with it and was that AI made by the ancients or Halt?

my theory is that wish granting comets used star rod power for wishes like Nova are obviously built by the ancient halcandrian factory (egg engines) but Halt upgraded Stardream to work differently and with an AI and tried using it's power to get back Susie's mom but he fucked up and ended up loosing susie and forgetting about her due to the helmet messing with his memory.

All we know is ancient tech is powerful enough to cut though time and space if megolor's ship is anything to go by and it being able to summon galatica knight from some "timeless road"
