Sargeras had been focusing so much on destroying Azeroth after conquering hordes and lands of demons to turn into his army, that he did not know what had actually caused the Old God infestation of Azeroth (planets?). During the time period of this expansion, it seems that the Void Lords have been discovered over all.

Sargeras himself is in fear and literally driven mad at this point because despite his Titan power, there are literally multiple entities in their existent that are so fucking godly powerful they literally just consume and spawn tendril gods that infest planets without trying. Remember, that Titans died JUST fighting Old Gods on Azeroth. Sargeras at this point, has lost the support of his lietuenants, being Archimonde and Kil'Jaeden who are now fucking dead.

We don't know if he is going to go crazy, abandon his task, or turn into some pussified raid boss somehow 20 people can kill.

To be honest, I feel that Sargeras after watching the burning legion fall for centuries to the forces on Azeroth, will turn to them and end up making peace, granting them deity like power to hunt the Old Gods and subsequently void lords.

It's not so much been determined that Sargeras has been manipulated/corrupted like every other character in the series.

It's more like Sargeras had an enemy and fought it for centuries with utmost focus to destroy the Old Gods, and essentially just decimate all planets to ensure they couldn't survive. Then, he discovered what actually caused the Old Gods and just realized that he killed the pantheon, has been trying to destroy the planets the Old Gods infested, and all for nothing. There are these huge nearly immortal beings that put the pantheon to shame. They are not creatures who act out of logic or ration. They just purely exist causing havoc as is their nature, and the Void Gods are the spawn from their havoc.

Sargeras built an entire army to try to stop what he essentially thought was a small army of Ants, but now he realized it's so much more and he has nothing more he can do. His army is also gone.

8-player parties, 2.5s GCD, console support, and SE outright stating they "don't want to make content harder than creator" kind of killed my hopes of XIV having anything challenging. That's not to say less difficult content is inherently a bad thing I'm sure there are plenty of people happy with the way XIV tunes its encounters, but with the dripfeed of endgame content in HW I don't see the value proposition in paying 15 bucks a month for 1-2 weeks of progression and then like an hour or two of farm every week until the next big update.

Only in the sense that a cloak will have whatever your primary stat is instead of having STR/AGI/INT cloaks all be different. Secondary stats are fixed on gear and priority is still a thing and it matters since quite a few classes have secondaries that outweigh mainstat point for point.

The very idea of them actually crapping out a new expansion pack confounds me.
I don't even know what to expect with a potential WoW: [subtitle] of Argus.
Would they add new races/class or just make the cap 120 and do the same shit as legion?
Do they still get a lot of money from China?

2 friends got legion, hit the cap and quit, pretty fast.
I didn't understand why and they wouldn't really give me a clear answer.
I played it fairly recently to bide time until the Steam Summer Sale, 6 days of time left.
I understand now why they quit.
The dripfeed systems are out of control.
I hit 110 and that doesn't mean anything.
You need to power the ever loving shit out of your weapon and practically need to do every damn quest they made for legion to really even get started.
Forced loremaster is what it equates to.
You get resources, but unlike WoD where you can just wait and generate it in a pile you click every other day, you actually have to acquire the resources though questing and shit.
It never seems like enough to really make any progress.

WoD was like a casual shallow mobile game most of the time.
Legion is like a mobile game built around micro-transactions that haven't been implemented.
