No now. It's pixiv exploded in addition to twitter art. The volume is just much greater. Pixiv is still a fine indicator of fanart. I collect a ton of Girls und Panzer art, most of the twitter stuff ends up getting on pixiv.

Beyond texture swaps, very few modders know how to edit the shaders used on the models, so more complicated effects like highlights & normalmaps (more curvy slopes...) to add detail to the characters. Few moders know how to change the clothes models (which also need new shaders) and keep it fitting to the model. A lot of the customization people want go beyond changing bytes in the exe or reversing the texture packings, they need access to the character data loading configs and the system used for changing clothes.

I wish modders reverse engineered the SK engine like they did for Illusion games and the Unity engine in general.
