With the amount of money Phil Spencer is asking from me I could already build a better rig guaranteed to last longer than the Windows 10 machine.

If it were $450 then MAYBE I'd buy one. The original Xbox One was priced at $499 and was less powerful than the PS4 and demanded the Kinect at all times. I think Microsoft should've waited it out until ninth gen to roll out this machine. It seems even more unnecessary than the PS4 Pro in some regards. Hell of a lot better though, but still.

They make money with the online services and the percentage from video games sold.

Overtaking in consoles takes time. Right now Sony is fucking up majorly and MS is doing all the right things but they won't beat them overnight, just like Sony didn't overtake the 360 when it switched to Kinect, years passed and it took the PS4 to do it.

The subsection of consumers who care about shit like teraflops and 4k who don't have a capable PC at this point is pretty small. If anything they'll just go for a cheaper model, if they go for an Xbone at all. Games still need to have gimped as fuck internal resolutions in order to run on the normal Xbone and theres not a chance in hell that developers are going to create different versions of their game for the different consoles. If enough of people fall for 4K meme and MS starts cutting down regular Xbox One manufacturing to the point where the One X becomes the Xbox you can find from the stores.

Games still look and play like shit on One X and PS4 Pro so there is no real reason to switch over and what you have left are first time buyers.
