Not OP, but I get what he means. Nice looking worlds to explore, cool nopon friends, british voice acting, animals grazing that you can fight if you choose, the music is very nice and changes and slows down when it becomes night.

The first XC was the same, I just enjoyed relaxing in the world of the Bionis and the Mechonis.

Xenoblade, and apparently Xenoblade 2 are linear, however each area is absolutely massive so they don't feel linear at all. Xenoblade X is non-linear in the sense that you can go anywhere whenever you want.

All armor in Xenoblade and Xenoblade X looks different. Xenoblade X allows you to create a character but it really hurts the story. They haven't shown if you could change armor in Xenoblade 2 but I don't see why not.

Thanks for the reply. I literally have never played a jrpg and from what I've seen, self-inserting and customization and such is not something these jap devs care too much about. Might well pick this up if the gameplay is fun though because I really like the world design.

JRPGs and WRPGs are really different, they're hardly the same genre and have very opposite approaches to RPGs.

WRPG developers liked the customizability, openness, roleplay and immersion of table-top RPGs. JRPG developers took after the stat building, dungeon crawling, set in stone stories and established characters of some table-top RPGs.

We had a thread about this earlier actually. The article itself, and the quotes from the staff at Monolith suggest that NoA can't actually force Monolithsoft to censor/change the game, they can only suggest.

The fact that they showed off Pyra to the entire world at E3 in a skimpy outfit and massive breasts proves that Monolith isn't exactly taking NoA's suggestions to heart, and they can't exactly change it without pissing off the Japanese audience.
Censoring the game would really alienate the Japanese, who are the main purchasers to begin with. Japan fucking loves Pyra's breasts, there'd be an uproar if that got changed. Monolith also leaked part of their script that takes place a hotspring where the girls admire eachother's boobs, which is obviously something that would piss of NoA.

Monolith isn't listening to NoA, so I doubt we have to worry about censorship in development.
