There is no general standard for how games run, you have to mention a specific handful of titles in regards to performance or else you are saying literally nothing at all

For several years now, most AAA titles have had shit optimization and/or a couple settings that tend to sap down performance for very little real benefit. These are the options like Ubersampling and Nvidia Hairworks in Witcher games. You'd be surprised how many people also don't understand what the Resolution Scaling / 3D Rendering Resolution does, and keep it at 200-400%.
