ive heard that, and it's disappointing, but how is the original last light compared to the redux? im definitely gong to play it, just because i really like the series and im okay with it being a little casualised to be in that world again, but if there's a massive difference like there is between the original metro 2033 and the redux id prefer to play the better one

last light redux is pretty much the same as vanilla.

I just finished my second playthrough of 2033 and halfway through LL now, forgot how amazing they are since i last beat them in 2013.
Love the book too.

honestly the only shitty thing I hated about Last Light, was the voice actor change for Artyom.
Artyom's original voice actor in OG 2033, was perfect for the role.
Always sounded bleak and depressed, perfectly painted how someone should sound in that landscape.
The new actor is a shit/10 CoD voice actor that's always excited and yelling.
