Activision and Bungie's former president, thank christ he stepped down, put very strict shit on him, and were accelerating the timeline so much that he said Destiny would suffer for it. He protested the shifting requirements and refused to work and was fired by Ryan.

I feel awful because knowing if Marty was respected like he was during the development of Halo, then Destiny would have turned out absolutely fantastically. That, and if Activision and Ryan hadn't shifted the timeline so much, and caused so much strife.

Reach had a god tier style for the armor, vehicles, and the Covenant. ODST had a great ambiance to it, and a pretty damn good soundtrack. 343 has managed to butcher every single aspect that has made Halo Halo. The soundtrack for 5 is unironically pretty god damn awful.

With that said, I enjoyed what they tried to do with Halo 4.

Both are the worst selling FPS Halo games and most of the guys that made Halo 1-3 either left the company or was working Destiny. Both ODST and Reach had a massive drop in quality after Halo 1-3. You can shout all you want about 343 killing Halo but you guys need to stop revision history, Wars, ODST, and Reach almost literally killed the series. While Halo 4 lost all of it's playerbase it brought the series sales back up, Halo 5 even sold better than ODST and Reach in it's first three months. Halo is less dead then it was in late 2009-2010.

Just because they were financial flops doesn't mean that they were objectively bad. I'm not revising history, and it's silly to view Halo as not being killed by 343 because it's financially successful. EA is financially successful but that doesn't mean their awful business practices should be encouraged. 343 is killing Halo, from raping the visual style, the story, fucking Chief over so quickly in place of a random new protagonist that we're forced to warm up to when he's going against best boy in a single game. Their advertisement campaign was pretty much on paper, Cortana being brought back as an ugly villain who controls the strongest shit in hundreds of galaxies is bullshit, and the soundtrack is god awful.

Have you seen Bungie's Halo Chronicles concept? That shit was more crazy than anything 343 ever came up with. Plus it wouldn't have been the same, a lot of the guys that made Halo 1-3 special were gone after Halo 3.
