What was the first video game you ever played, and what are your thoughts on it now?
>>381161160
>Sonic Spinball
Looking back at it it's a fucking weird game. I never noticed as a child though.

Pokemon Blue
Gen 1 was shit, but Pokemon was fun back then.
Worms Armageddon
Still good
Megaman 3
Hard as fuck.
>Mario Kart 64
Still fun to play in the numerous times I've played it over the years.
Still fondly remember not grasping the concept of moving the control stick and wildly waving my controller around to make sharp turns.
street fighter alpha 2
it was very fun
i kept losing to my sister though who played sakura and could not get past guile in singleplayer

Sonic for Genesis,
still one of the best, though Sonic 2 I find more enjoyable overall.
>Vectorman
Still great, especially the soundtrack.

Gran Turismo 2
Still bad at racing games
>>381161160
First game I ever played?
That fucking Lion King game on the sega genesis.
First one I ever played to completion?
Pokemon silver (despite playing blue first, I was like 5 and only used blastoise. In silver I used my entire team)
>>381161160
>Kirby Super Star
Still good fun. I play it once every few years and I always forget you can equip abilities in Milky Way Wishes. My enjoyment of that whole game goes up tenfold every time I figure that out.
>>381161160
very first super mario bros.
still good but every time i play it i get teary eyed because it reminds me of my dad and i playing.
>>381161160
I want to say Qbert (spelling) the game on the Atari where you jump around a large triangle as a non-human character. I'm not nostalgic in the slightest and would have zero interest in ever playing it again.
>>381161160
No idea. My experience with games go beyond the reach of my memory. If I am to believe my parents, I was playing baby games on PC since I was 2.
The first one I have a very slight memory of was some dumb disney game where whatever letter key you press makes something different happen on the screen, relating to a word that starts with that letter.
The first video game I ever played was Adventure Island on the Nes since my uncle was really into this shit but I didn't even know what a video game was let alone a Nintendo.
It was around the early 90's when I got a Nes with Mario Bros and Mario Bros 3 (skipped 2) thinking that it was the same as Adventure Island. Although at the time all the rage was the Genesis and Snes... Then I got a Snes when everyone was jumping ship to the PS1.

Alex Kidd in miracle world
Always great
This, sometime in the mid 80's.
When I actually think what computer power is today, it just blows my mind.
still love the game
>>381163323
>what are my thoughts now
Fuck
>Lion King
as bullshit today as it was then
>Silver
a fucking fantastic game, improved on the original in every way and was the best sequel the originals could have ever asked for.
Soul silver/heart gold only beat it due to the special split and having abilities, which were good additions imo. But the original gsc still hold up, regardless.
Ehh some nostalgia fun.
I still like most of the master system games I played really. Ghouls+Ghosts scared the shit out of me when I was 3 and I couldn't get past the 2nd level, but I still love that game now. The built in Alex Kidd game is awesome, and pic related is still really fun. Some golf game called Putt n Putter and some card games thing called Casino Games are both whatever.
I'm not to keen on the sonic games, they're a bit odd compared to the mega drive/genesis games.
Undoubtedly not the first, but my most fondest memories is Roblox.
They actually raped it. Fun game turned into a walker sucking machine.
DKC on snes. I used to play with my older brother and remember dying a lot but still having fun. It's still an absolute blast to play todayI miss you bro
>>381162808
Are you me? I literally came here to post this.
It was some Winnie the Pooh game meant to teach you math and stuff. Anyone know what I mean?
>>381161160
Zelda II. I still love it.
Pokemon gold
still the best Pokemon game ever made
>>381164716
I used to play DKC with my little brother, I'm sorry dude.
But my first memory of a video game is honestly super mario. I still think it's a bretty gud game.
Pokemon Red.
I'd rather play other games but it will always hold a special place in my heart. I still love it.
>>381161160
Doom
I still love it.
It was either Catacomb (pic related) or that old green wireframe tanks game.
>>381161160
Super Mario Bros.
Damn good game.
>>381161160
Donkey Kong Country on the SNES, the first one I have any memory of anyhow. Still fun stomping on those stupid little beavers heads.
>>381161160
banjo kazooie
>Jazz Jackrabbit
Still replay it every year on my birthday.
>>381166787
And the game is aged like shit.
>>381161160
Either Crash or Monsters Inc on the PS1. They both aged like shit but at least Crash is getting a remake.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on my dad's Mega Drive. It's not as good as Sonic 3 and Knuckles, but it's still a damn fine platformer.
>>381161160
Super Mario World. Still one of the better Mario games except for the Galaxies. I really wish it had more levels though. I'm as disappointed about it as I was 20+ years ago.
I think it was this piece of shit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6JC-HCNcio
I can't remember, I just know it had loops, then my friend's dad put doom on the computer and then my dad got me a sega.
>>381161160
Super Mario Bros. on NES
Nostalgia trip, a casual romp that I still go back to every once in awhile.
