So I just killed the Parasite Dragon in .hack//infection. Anything else I need to do before importing my save into mutation? I already got most of the rare weapons for my party members. Should I go through the trouble of getting those parameter books from the NPCs? Can I still get them in the next game?

Parameter books aren't a necessity, but are good to have around. You can move on without them as there are more books in the other games. NPCs seem to restock between volumes, so they should still have them after you move on. Probably

Tbh I hardly ever bothered with the books, so you may be better off saving those items. They aren't even needed to complete the item list. Completely optional.
