You lost me there, Penelo is the ugliest girl Yoshida ever drew. Her outfit looks like a shitty pajama/swimsuit.

Also main issue was that Matsuno got fired right after getting forced by XIIs producers to insert Vaan and other shits to appeal a larger japanese demographic. Basch was supposed to be the MC, Vossler most likely wasn't going to become a traitor, etc.

The wikipedia article makes it sound like Vaan stole Basch's role but the FF wiki says that Vaan was supposed to be an older person at first but they made him younger to cater to the market and to balance out the party.

The latter sounds more like what Matsuno would go for because he tends to have younger characters like Ramza and Denam to balance out the older folks like Lanselot and Orlandeau.

The worst part is that they are trying to charge full price for the remaster. When FFX-X2 had two boring games.

I love FFXII, it's truly an acquired taste but when you see how poorly directed XIII and XV were you can only be amazed of the huge amount of work behind XII, the characters are charming, areas are great, mature plot with interesting ideas, epic boss fights and a fucking huge load of sidequests.
Sure it could have been way better if Matsuno didn't get fired but it remains one of the best in the series.
